Parent Education Night

At the Parents Education Night, parents enjoy a presentation that includes facts about summer learning loss, the achievement gap, parents’ role in summer learning, and details about the ThinkStretch program.

Parents are given the opportunity to share their experiences with summer learning (or loss), review the grade level specific summer learning books, and sign up as volunteers.

ThinkStretch provides the complete presentation on DVD, presentation script, and sample books in the Program Coordinator materials.

This is often the first time parents have considered their roles and responsibilities for summer learning.  Supporting and educating parents is key to returning confident, prepared students in the fall.
